First haircut:
We were also getting ready for my father to visit. My father, Grandpa Fred (grandpa bubbles as he is now affectionately called), visited on his way to Spain. He brought an early birthday gift for A&E - bubble wands which make enormous bubbles! And they are catch-able bubbles if you're patient and delicate in your approach. The kids loved that and the very soapy water which Ella bathed herself in. She was not so much interested in making the bubbles but Aidan was into it.
We also celebrated a belated B-day for grandpa Fred who's b-day was Sept 28th. This was the first time A&E had met grandpa Fred and it was great for them to get acquainted. After a good visit grandpa was off on his much anticipated Mediterranean sailing trip.
My father has just retired after 25 years in the insurance business. At the same time my dad was visiting us, my sister Christy - I mentioned her in an earlier post- had passed the Illinois bar exam and she was being sworn in that last week in October. Yay Christy! We are very happy for you! And thank you for being a follower of our blog, too :) This is my shout out to you!

I love these pictures of Chirsty and sisters Kathryn and Erin at Christy's graduation from Law school. These women were born in California. The are my sister's from another mother and not just in the metaphorical sense. We have the same father but different mothers and we haven't seen each other much over the years. Kathryn and Erin live in California and Christy now lives in Chicago.
My father (grandpa Fred) and my mother (grandma James) were both born and raised in Illinois. Christy's mother is originally from Detroit. My aunt Betty, who is also in these graduation pictures, lives in Chicago still as do several of my relatives on my mother's side. I hear Christy enjoys living in Chicago. It's kind of like she's getting back to her mid-western roots and... its also a beautiful city.
Halloween: Aidan and Ella looked so cute as little black cats in black leotards, pointy ears, whiskers and tail but Aidan developed a wee bit of a fever and it didn't seem like a good idea to take them out in the cold. That night Aidan had his first nightmare. He dreamt that Llamas were trying to eat his feet. It was terribly scary for him. Since then he is doing much better.
