We've had a lot of rain this week, but today the sun finally came out to play and Maryu and the kids were ready for it. This is a picture of our au pair, Maryu, enjoying the afternoon with the kids. Maryu came to Charlottesville from Panama through an organization named Cultural Care Au Pair. She has been with us for a little over two months now.Today is Friday and since it had been a long week we wanted to get out on the town, so we packed up the kids and went to dinner at Maya (http://www.maya-restaurant.com). We brought along the milk cocktails, stuffed animals, a few toys, and the milk rags. Maya is kind of a trendy place. It's non-smoking which I really like. The menu is "prepared in the spirit of the old southern kitchens." I had Shenandoah trout filet in brown caper butter and Dan had chicken with ham gravy and mashed potatoes. Tasty! We were the only ones with kids. I love seeing peoples eyes light up as they discover the children. Happy quiet children! Even better! The kids did a great job relaxing in their car seats and taking in the scene. The au courant customers were coool and low key in their smiles of appreciation for the babes in their midst.

Looks like a happy, contented crew. Congratulations. Especially on a peaceful time in the restaurant with babies. It's not always like that but I'm glad your maiden voyage was serene.
