First words

Since Aidan and Ella joined a daycare, or as I call it "play class", their vocabulary has grown exponentially in English and Spanish words. Some of it is their developmental stage and some of it is related to the billingual instructors of the play class in addition to socializing with other children.

Both A&E understand a lot of what we say to them over the course of the day and answer many yes/no questions with the shake of their head. They can also say more than 20 words in English, about 5 in Spanish and three or four in Sign language. They are adding new words to their repetoire daily. My favorite word is "Mommie"...of course!

Yesterday Aidan combined Mommie-+-Daddie by using the conjuntion "and" to say "Mommie and Daddie". We are so impressed!! Some sounds such as "L" and "R" are difficult for their tongues to roll. They play at making sounds and love the book Mr. Brown's wonderful sounds. "Mr. Brown can Moo. Can you? "

Here's a sample of their English lexicon:
Hot, Up, Outside, Babies, Cool, Hockey, Wow, All-done, Ears, Hair, Eyes, Car, Cookie, Home, Nigh-Nigh, Bye-Bye, Doggie, Away (we say this to Cooper), Ball, Hi, No, Ok, Uh-Oh, Mommie, Daddie, Ella, Aidan, Cracker, ..and.. Nana= banana and grandma :)

Spanish:
No mas (no more), Si (yes), Vaca (cow), Sientese(sit down), Sabe (to know)

Sign Language:
Eat, Drink, More
A&E
