Part 2/ First 6 Weeks

Aidan and Ella went through two growth spurts and gained almost 6 lbs over their first 6 -8 weeks. Our pediatrician was very pleased with their healthy progress. Cooper was very interested. I was happy to be able to take them to their first appointment by walking them across campus to the hospital on a sunny brisk day.

In the first few weeks A&E reminded me of hungry little birds so delicate... and very vocal when they wanted to eat. They slept a lot, ate every three hours and had short periods of alertness (that have grown longer and more animated ) when they explore their new universe. They loved to gaze at the black and white ultra sound pictures Dan put up over the changing table. When they weren't sleeping they watched our faces intently and started to stick their tongues out, followed by vocalizing vowels sounds in a conversational way and then smiling by the 6th week! :)
